Artists Studio

This is the gallery and Jeff's studio where you can sometimes catch him working and view work in progress along with a constantly changing exhibition of recent work by Jeff, Alice and Amy. Also on display is a range of paintings reproduced as prints and cards

Jeff was born and raised in North Yorkshire where he developed an early interest in the countryside. After seving an apprenticeship as a draughtsman he has spent most of his working life in Norway and Scotland where he came to love the wild landscape. Jeff and his family moved to Strathspey in 1991 to concentrate on his painting. When time permits he sails his Drascombe Lugger in Loch Ness and the Moray Firth.

Jeff paints on location and in his studio form sketches done on location. He works mainly in watercolour in a traditional representational style but also produces work in oils and pastels in a looser more contemporary style. He spends his time painting the Mountains, lochs, countryside and coastline of Scotland along with Scottish wildlife subjects.

Jeffs broad range of work also includes Printmaking particularly 'Linocuts', Dichroic Glass Jewellery, Leaded Glass, Chainsaw carving and has lately been experimenting with ceramics, main interests being 'Raku' and large platters with landscape designs from around Scotland.
